Description

The Hatchet is our versatile weapon of mass pow slaying destruction and designed to be ridden much shorter than your average snowboard. To do this, we’ve increased the surface area to provide you with additional float that you’ll need while the reduction in length will keep you nimble. Featuring a Directional Twinish Shape, the splitboard is just ever so slightly tapered and the nose just a touch longer than the tail, but the stance is centered on the camber. The combination of those features creates a blend that allows for additional float in pow while balancing the twin features that are ideal for landing and riding switch without sacrificing too much float. On this splitboard we also use our Rugged Topsheet made from castor bean oil to add durability/snow-shedding. A Multi Radial Twin Camber profile provides maximum pop and edgehold while S Weave Carbon that weaves from base to topsheet and back to the base increases pop further. We utilize a clean black, top of the line, Electra Sintered Base for maximum speed and ease of p-tex repair. PU Sidewalls provide amplified durability/dampening over traditional UHMW sidewalls, and our trusty poplar/bamboo core provides sustainably harvested pop and stability. From popping pillow lines to spinning off cliffs, the Hatchet will keep you afloat in pow while giving you the versatility to play.

For the finishing touches on this splitboard, we use active latching Karakoram Ultraclips to help create as close to a solid board feel as possible and limit chatter between sections. Additionally, we design with camber underfoot so that you’ll have optimum skin traction for the uphill, and edge-hold on the downhill. A slight shift of the touring bracket forward to create a heavier tail also allows for ease of kick-turns in the skin track.
